We ordered pick up from this place. They have plenty of seatings indoors and I like the decorations - the ambiance feels cozy and home-y here. I was overwhelmed by their extensive menu but we ended up ordering the mole poblano as well as the combination fajitas. I was a bit disappointed by the fajitas since it didn't come with pico, sour cream, guacamole, etc. the common sides. It did come with rice and beans. Although I know that fajitas is not a traditional Mexican dish but more so Tex-Mex. The fajita itself also tasted stir-fried and not crispy or charcoal grilled. It felt like a healthier version since it also wasn't overly greasy and was lightly seasoned. They also load the dish with vegetables which I like. The mole poblano was delicious. I have an obsession with any type of mole so if I see it on the menu I will likely want to try it. The dish also came with rice and beans as well. Both dishes had generous portion sizes and we had left overs for lunch for two the next day. I highly recommend giving this place a try! Generous portion sizes and affordable tasty dish.

Always an amazing experience! This is my partner and I's go to hidden gem in our neighborhood. I'm from Sonora Mexico and am really picky about where I eat Mexican food in NYC. This place tastes the closest to home! Their horchata is amazing, and I've loved their shrimp camarones and campechana too. But you can't go wrong with the tacos!

Delicious, authentic Mexican food for a reasonable price! I had the chicken mole and it was very delicious, a huge portion, and only $15! Would definitely come back!

A friendly, cozy and relaxed restaurant on fifth avenue with delicious food and reasonable prices. And the decor will make you feel like you are having dinner south of the border! We split a regular nachos and three enchiladas verde. The nachos were delicious (especially the guacamole!). The enchiladas would have benefited from a bit more chicken though the flavor was spot on! Definitely a great choice for Mexican food!

The real deal! Delicious food and friendly service in a down-to-earth, comfortable neighborhood place. Tables are nicely spaced so you're not packed in. The guacamole is a must, it is fresh and flavorful and served with homemade tortilla chips. We especially liked the enchiladas Rojas for the red sauce with a great kick. Black beans and yellow rice served with entrees are elevated with excellent seasoning. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable to boot. We Love I Love Guacamole!

I would give this place a 4.5 . The prices were very reasonable. The decor in the restaurant made you feel like you are in Mexico with the colorfulness. We ordered the guacamole to share and it was huge. The only thing was that it was made with lemon and we personally prefer lime. We also got the carne asada burrito and they used seasoned rice which made it pretty tasty , carne asada was crispy and good size. We also got 4 tacos- chicken, lengua (very good), cactus (not a fan), and Al pastor. Would come again when we are in the neighborhood as it seems like a neighborhood favorite .

This was still back in Brooklyn. My in-laws were in town for Mother's Day. My MIL wanted to go to Greenwood Cemetery to see some famous graves. When we were trying to decide what to eat, we couldn't. My BIL is a picky eater and won't walk into any restaurant with under an "A" rating, and he spread that to my husband. We walked by this place and it had an "A" rating so we went inside. It was pretty empty because it was almost 1 o'clock. I honestly was not too in the mood for Mexican, but everyone else wanted it so I stuck with classic waffles with strawberries & bananas, nothing special. My MIL got a sandwich (I don't remember which one, I think it was the Cuban), but she said it was one of the best sandwiches she ever had. They really packed it with meat and the other condiments. My BIL got a torte or something, I can't remember exactly. My husband got tacos (taking a page from my book), and he said they were really good. My FIL got a burrito, which he also devoured. It was also hot outside, and we'd been walking around a cemetery for a few hours, so we were very hungry and thirsty. If you're in the area, I do recommend it. It's pretty good and it's not expensive. And they are good for large groups.

I've since been back for several weeks, and each time has been great. I've tried several more of the main plates, and they've yet to disappoint me. I will typically add a tostada or tamale as a side, and those are great as well. Overall, this is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant and Brooklyn, and has worked its way into my weekly routine. I've also discovered that there are more people during the day, though there is never a wait to get a seat. If nothing else, it's a relief to know that other people recognize how good this restaurant is. It truly is a hidden gem that any passerby would assume is bad (mainly because of the name, which seems very much like a place that does bad Mexican food), but is actually great.
